Shocks have preload adjusters as part of the bottom spring mount, seems like the tool to use the end of one of the screwdriver blades from the factory tool kit. No dampening adjustment however. I've found no reliable information on using anything on the ocg belt drive. we used them for years to drive the camshaft in autnmotive engines and VW drove the Diesel fuel injection pump with one. Petroleum products are their worst enemy. I've had some problems lately with auto multi rib belts being noisy when any contamaination gets on them, A through cleaning with soap and water worked on one, a citris based solvent cleaner worked on another and the best solution I've found is a generic foot powder with minimal additives. It worked when nothing else would and seems to last. If the belt is squeaking on your savage, carefully check the alignment of the belt to the pulleys, the marks in the swing arm are often inaccurate, support the bike so you can turn it over and watch the belt as it goes on and off the pulleys, if it rubs either side it will complain. Also I find when I run on a dirt road, or in the rain or through road puddles, it is noisy until the dirt or water is gone. Unless the belt was enclosed I don't think I can stop that.
